The Kustom Dart 10 is about as basic as it gets. With die-cast Kustom logo, jet-black grille cloth, white piping and stylish control panel layout, the Dart 10 guitar combo amplifier has an uptown look. It features a plywood baffle board for enhanced cabinet resonance. Although small in size, it will surprise you with its rich clean tone, smooth distortion characteristics, and “big amp” impact.

What we’re talking here is your basic no frills, no-nonsense bare bones small practice amp under $100 (new) and generally under $50 (used). Is it a Roland Micro Cube? No. But if you need something basic for the beginner in a practice setting, this will get the job done. You get one channel with some overdrive, and there is one single tone setting knob. On a scale for comparison, if your choices were this, a Line 6 Spider, or a Peavey of the same size – in most cases this would be the better choice.

It has a nice full warm sound, your best bet is to pair it with quality pedals, or get a decent multi-effects unit to plug into it. Boss, DOD, and Digitech all make good multi-effect units under $100 to get you started.
